Sanctuary of Saint Anthony at St. Joseph Cupertino Friary

The heart of the Companions of St. Anthony ministry is the Sanctuary of St. Anthony. Located in scenic Howard County, Maryland, just 30 miles west of Baltimore, the Sanctuary of St. Anthony Friary has been home to the Franciscan Friars for over 70 years. In its long life, the Sanctuary of St. Anthony has been home to many friars and has served as a student residence, a house of philosophy, and a novitiate. Since 1991, the Sanctuary has been home to the Companions of St. Anthony ministries. The Sanctuary is privileged to house a major relic of St. Anthony, given to them as a gift from their confreres in Padua, Italy. The relic is housed in the chapel at the Sanctuary of St. Anthony which is open to the public for prayers and reflection.

Operating both within the Sanctuary and beyond its walls, the friars' ministries include Devotions, Spirituality & Education, and the Prayer partners.

St. Anthony Prayer Partners will accept your prayer intentions, pray and sacrifice for them, and correspond with you when appropriate. These intentions are also remembered at our monthly Healing masses.
